AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 until 2020. [8][99 Morgan was selected number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there and was integral in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan was only 22 at the time and the youngest player on the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. In the 123rd minutes of the semifinal game against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She finished 2012 with 28 goalsand 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. This made her the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to achieve 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was the FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan played a key role in helping the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2019. Morgan was selected on the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
